GSE Solar Systems was set-up by Geoff Simmonds, Director of G. Simmonds Electrical in 2010 to expand into the renewable energy market, specialising in the installation of solar photovoltaic.
All of our on-site team have a valid Health & Safety Certificate and clean CRB checks.
GSE Solar Systems are approved installers under the MCS Scheme through ELECSA.
GSE Solar Systems are members of the REAL Assurance Scheme.
Our Team
Geoff Simmonds
Geoff has been working in the electrical installation industry since 1971 and has accrued a vast amount of knowledge in his trade.
Geoff studied at Guildford Technical College between 1971 and 1978 where he obtained a City & Guilds Qualification in Electrical Installations and then continued his studies for two further years to obtain Electrical Technicians Certificates.
Geoff has a domestic solar photovoltaic installer certification from LOGIC and has been certified as an approved installer under the MCS Scheme by ELECSA.
In his spare time Geoff is a keen golfer, scuba diver and is a referee with Surrey Amateur Swimming Association.
Matthew Simmonds
Matt joined the company in 2003 as an apprentice and studied for the next two years to gain his City & Guilds qualification as an Electrician. He has undertaken many varied electrical installations including solar PV over the last few years.
Matt will soon be taking further City & Guild qualifications to become an Approved Electrician, together with obtaining his own dedicated PV certification.
Matt enjoys football and poker in his spare time.
Paul Goddard
Paul obtained his qualifications in Electrical Installations and has been in the industry over 15 years. Paul is very experienced in both commercial and domestic electrical installations.
Paul joined the Team in July 2011 as an Approved Electrician and will shortly be undertaking a dedicated solar photovoltaic course.
Paul enjoys fishing and golf in his spare time.
Jessica Staniforth
Jessica joined the company in August 2011 as Geoff’s P.A. She has a background in legal and is a qualified legal executive. Jessica decided to leave the legal field to help with the family business when Geoff decided to expand into solar PV.
Jessica enjoys going to the cinema
in her spare time.
Jane Simmonds
Jane works part-time in the office.
Jane also keeps busy with her own company JJ Cakes & Catering specialising in wedding and celebration cakes.
